Check that you haven't accidentally left a floppy or CD in the PC. If so, remove it and reboot. If you still get the same error message, your hard drive may be dead or the Operating System is corrupt. You may need to buy a new computer or replace the hard drive.

Without knowing how old your PC is, it's hard to say which option is better.

Could there be a floppy disk / CD in it?

If not, sounds like your hard drive may have failed. Check the connections and try again.

take out the floppy disk in the floppy disk drive. if there isn't one, you may have a computer that doesn't have an operating system on it.
