Contact the dept. of social services in your area. If you don't have medical insurance then you will mos def qualify for medicaid. You didn't mention if you had a job, but if your income is below a certain level you may qualify for WIC.
Here is a link to Illinois Dept. of Public Aid: http://www.hfs.illinois.gov/
This will give you a quick overview of their services, and some numbers to call. Definitely contact them ASAP, so you can start getting prenatal care now...that's very important.

Congratulations! You're gonna be a momma. There are many services available in Illinois. Go to your local family planning clinic and speak to a counselor there. They will help you get started on WIC and prenatals and will have all the information you need to have a safe and successful pregnancy.

Look up Department of Human Services in the phone book and call them asking how you can apply for medicaid. They should be able to arrange for you to meet with a social worker who will walk you through the process. Medicaid will cover your prenatal care since you do not have any other insurance. Breathe a little easier - and congrats!

Look in the phonebook for your area and find several numbers. First of all the welfare office, you need to apply for medicaid. Next look for family planning, or planned parenthood, or whatever version there of that is in your area. Pregnancy and birth are very expensive and you are going to need all the help you can get. You need to start prenatal care ASAP. Best wishes for you and your baby.

You can go to your local hospital and they can assist you in medicaid or local health unit and they can also assist you in finding all the right places to get health coverage for you and baby and also you can be set up on WIC and that will help you as well. I am not sure if you live near the locations on the website.. but thought they could help you as well... good luck.

Don't go to Planned Parenthood. My sister did and they were not helpful.

They have locations in IL. The people there probably know of local, state and federal programs that you can use to have a healthy pregnancy and birth.

If you used birth control, a doctor gave them to you so go to the same place where you got birth control or try going to the clinic in your city.
