Iran _was_ a democracy until 1953 when the US _helped_ the Shah overthrow the democracy.
After the 1979 revolution, the democratic forces in Iran have slowly caused a return to democratic government; the real power in Iran, the clerics, are slowly giving way to the under-30 youth who make up more than 50% of the population and to the over-60 people who were around for the previous democratic state.
IF the US stays out, Iran WILL return to a full parliamentary democracy as it once was. The only reason for the US to harass and invade Iran is to _prevent_ democracy from returning. Given the US's long history of destroying democracies, that's undoubtedly their intent.

Not yet. I would like to see the people of Iran rise up and take back their government, first. If they need help and request the US, THEN we go and help them.
You must be from Europe. I saw a box delivered to a hospital in Baghdad, yesterday that was from Denmark, I think, and it said, "Irak" on it.

The nurse got here up from at the back of me and positioned a blanket over my shoulders . . . i became questioning why it became slightly drafty returned there!

I would like to see the people of Iran decide for themselves what kind of government they want.
By bringing down a tyrant and supplanting him with another tyrant you've accomplished nothing.
In Iraq, the object has been to allow the Iraqi people to decide what kind of government they want and who will lead it. So far, it's been working pretty well.

i really hope you are being sarcastic...it is illegal to invade someone just because you want to spread your legal system...the whole region is surrounding by theocracy's and dictatorships...it's a disaster waiting to happen.
hopefully we get Bush out soon enough so that he doesn't have time to falsify intelligence again and gets us into another pointless war.
FYI, I'm not calling our troops pointless, i have many friends in Baghdad right now...i support our troops completely, however i do not support war.
