I pay 25% in Federal taxes, plus state tax, local tax, car tax, gas tax, electric tax, cable tax, property tax, phone tax, cell phone tax, sales tax, etc. Are you satisfied? I probably keep 17 cents for every dollar earned. I'm just glad I don't get as much government as I pay for.

Fair? Ten percent. Realistic? 15 to 17 percent.

This question assumes the wisdom of a flat tax
which I don't think is a good idea.
I have no problem charging Bill Gates a 90% tax on
his income and charging paupers nothing. Gates
is still getting far far more income even with his
90% tax than I'll ever make - and there is no way
you're going to prove to me that he works harder
or is morally worth more.
Why not 100%? Well, with a 90% taxation, he
still has incentive to do more.

That is a very inept Idea. The less money you make the lower the percentage is that you can live without. A rich man can often live without half of his income while a poor man would probably starve to death if you took more than 15%. It is a very unfair idea you are putting forward.

5%. Everyone pays the same percentage, and they're on the same key on the keyboard.
