The only way computer disk space is used as "memory" is in what's called "Virtual Memory". The computer normally handles this automatically for you.

You can't just increase your "RAM" with disk space. You can increase your virtual memory settings though. Right-click on my computer and select properties. Then click on the Advanced Tab. Click on Settings in the performance area, and then on the Advanced tab again. Click on Change at the bottom and you'll see your current settings. Windows should be set to manage that for you, but you can change it.

An amount is already set aside by Windows. It goes by a few names: Swap partition, paging file and virtual memory. Windows always uses it.
