No you can't. Where do these people live who are telling you you can?? I don't know any country where an abortion at 6 months is legal.

You unfortunately hit a sore sport with this question. There are so many PRO-LIFERS out there, and I'm one of them!! But I think what has appalled most of your responders here is the fact that you've asked if you could have an abortion at six months. In most countries, including the US -where I reside, it is unfathomable. We just had a case here where a woman delivered a baby at 21 weeks and the little one is doing great. Sure a little rough at first but essentially doing great. At six months you are 24 weeks pregnant and for most doctors a 26 week old baby is the minimum they'd want you to go into early labor and deliver. And with that, a 6 month old fetus is just about ready to face the world....obviously the longer baby's tucked inside the better.
I notice that the question is general though and doesn't say you or a friend are interested, but if someone is asking such a question I have a sneaky suspicion that there's a reason. If you are pregnant and were trying to decide if this was the right step for you, I think you my have spent too much time pondering and it is just too late. Face the wrath of having the baby, face your friends and family, and if you still decide that the baby isn't for you, then do the most heart wrenching thing you'll ever have to do in your lifetime and give your baby up for adoption. Learn from your 'mistakes' and face the consequences.
IN CONCLUSION: IT IS NOT LEGALLY RIGHT OR MORALLY RIGHT TO HAVE AN ABORTION WHEN YOU ARE SIX MONTHS PREGNANT. YOU WILL BE KILLING A HUMAN BEING AND LABELED A MURDERER.

Why not just kill the neighbor kid down the street? I'm trying to make a point here. Maybe I should stop and ponder your situation. You must be desperate or you would not be even thinking about something like this. There is a lot of help out there for you. A Crisis Pregnancy Center in your area could help you. Many places provide a place to live, food, medical care, and parenting classes or assistance in giving a baby up for adoption. This is your best choice. There are so many people that want a child. This decision would be a blessing to the baby (gets to live), the people that adopt the baby, and most of all it will be a blessing to you. Killing your unborn child will cause you a myriad of problems as you become older, you will have developed enough emotionally then to realize just how precious a life is and and realize the horror of what you did. Of course, you'll try to oppress any thoughts of what you did and it'll wind up eating you from the inside out. If you find yourself in this position, please seek help. React and make the right choice for YOU now.

Certain clinics will do them up to 24 weeks but some will not because a baby is viable at 24 weeks with all body parts and organs fully intact by then and are considered a baby not an ebryo or a blob etc. At this stage they are very much a child and shouldnt be performed regardless of how far along a person is,especially at this age...If its a m,uct not to keep the baby then abortion is the number one choice. abortion and at this stage is very expensive as adoption is 100% free.

I don't think you can at this point, but put it this way, I am 9 weeks pregnant, thats only 2 months, and my baby already has fingers and toes, and a heartbeat, and arms and legs, and taste buds on its tongue, it has ears and at six months, there is so much more, you can feel movement, the baby's sex organs are in place, if its a boy its showing now, why would you want to end this???? If you don't want the baby, give it up for adoption, please, there are so many people out there that want a baby and can't have one. And you are being selfish and thinking of aborting it. That is horrible. There's only 3 months to go, until its born, give it a chance to live. The moment you look in that baby's face, you'll regret ever thinking these thoughts.

Umm, probably not, i think thats past the cut off period, its not legal and its not safe.. once you're past.
ok now i've saved you having to read my half hour ramble on babies and abortions (that i had, and having two kids and everything about how old you are and what situation you're in, if you are asking for yourself...)
So i guess you probably have to ring up a clinic and ask them when the cut off period is or ask your dr.
But, i think it's safe to assume that with 3months left, and the possibility of having a premature baby... that you may aswell just have the baby, and then decide whether you want to keep it or put it up for adoption.
I mean if the baby would have had a slim chance of survival then it would have terminated itself (usually before 8weeks)
Not long and you'll basically be ready to go into labour

No, it is actually illegal in most developed countries to abort after 22 weeks.
If you think about it, there was a baby bron in the US not long ago at 21 wks 6 days, the baby survived and is doing fine. It's scary to think that legally you can abort a viable baby (22 weeks) - 24 weeks is much too late, I know a few mums of premmies who had their babies at 24 weeks!

Possibly, but I think there would have to be a medical necessity to get it done. The pregnancy would have to be endangering the mother's life, or the child has a some kind of medical problem (down syndrome, etc.) but even in that situation its optional. If a woman wants to get an abortion just b/c she doesn't want the baby...from what I've studied most states have a 12 to 13 week window...after that you'll just have to have the baby.
Just a side note: Can't ppl just answer a question w/ out putting their personal spin on it? Everyone is being so rude. Maybe this person asked the question out of curiousity...they might not even be pregnant! Chill out! Also, adoption isn't always the greatest choice...there are plenty of kids who are put up for adoption and are never adopted...they just bounce around from foster home to foster home...and have no stability. Is that fair?

No you cant!! abortion is only available in your 1st trimester after that the baby starts to form into a normal child but if you really want to get rid of it you could have it and put it up for adoption or you could have it illegaly aborted but to me thats just wrong. it were who was careless and got pregnant so you have to live with the consequences

Are you kidding? Why would you do that? Did you just find out after 6 months that you are pregnant, or are you considering ending this life out of anger, disgust, frustration? I guess it would depend on the reason for the abortion. I for one would not condone, nor encourage abortion at any length of a pregnancy unless there was incest, rape, or grave danger to the mother. That is just my opinion... like it or not... as far as the law, see the source below...
