You think some law is going to stop some girl from getting an abortion? Do you know how many girls are going to claim they were raped if it's only for rape victims?

Indeed only 10 % of all raped women claim to be raped ; most don't dare , because of the big shame they feel....

Making abortion illegal wouldn't stop it , but a run on backstreet abortionists and quacks would boom and lead to nothing good.

Personally I'm against abortion , but I can only speak for myself and it seems not to be right to judge on somebody, especially as long as I wasn't in their situation.

Abortion is an easy way out of a situation (most of the time) that could have been prevented or can be remedied by adoption...Why is it that in society it seems more acceptable to kill your unborn baby than to nurture it for 9 months and then give a barren couple the joy of having a child? Maybe the problem would be less of a problem if society didn't treat pregnant teenagers like scum....If they were treated decently, maybe they would carry their child full-term and give it a happy, healthy home with another family...Look at the number of couples looking to adopt a child within the US.....And on the other side of the coin, maybe if society would realize it doesn't matter how much you promote the "no sex until you are married", they are still gonna have sex....I think this is another example of parents today not being involved enough in their children's life...If they were supportive and understanding of their child's life, they may be able to prevent that unwanted pregnancy.

That logic makes no sence. Murdering babies is WRONG. They have done nothing wrong they are the most innocent of innocents.

Banning abortion will effectivly stop it.
Look at portugal,i love its abortion laws its acceptable.

If a girl claims rape and wants to have a abortion, you can look at the records and see if she said she was raped before she knew she was going to have a baby.

According to your logic, nothing should be illegal. After all, men still rape women, parents still abuse children, and thugs still shoot people. Laws against these crimes haven't stoppped them either. Do you think we should only enact laws that are 100% effective?

The real issue here is the simple fact that every abortion kills an innocent human being. One of the functions of law is supposed to be to protect innocent human beings from other human beings who would like to kill them. Do you honestly believe that abortion doesn't kill a human being? Do you realize that before most women even know they are pregnant, their child's heart is already beating? Virtually no surgical abortions are committed before 6-7 weeks, at which point the baby also has tiny fingers and recordable brain waves. Take a look at this:

The ONLY times in history when some human beings labeled other human beings "non-persons" were times when one group wanted to subjugate and kill another:
http://www.blackgenocide.org/abortion.html

and that is exactly what is happening now.

And by the way, abortion shouldn't be legal in the case of rape. It’s never acceptable to kill an innocent human being. Would you kill a one-year-old because her father was a rapist? If not, why is the child in the womb fair game? Is she less worthy of life than the rest of us because of the circumstances of her conception? Should children be punished with violent death for the crime of their fathers? Rape is bad; murder is worse. Studies have shown that the majority of women who abort a child conceived in rape regret it, while none of the mothers who choose to give birth do. A miscarriage, you're able to do no longer something approximately. An abortion in spite of the undeniable fact it incredibly is a call. i will pick to do evil or i will pick to do good. If i pick to take a life-time of an harmless toddler then it incredibly is an evil decision for which I need to be punished. If i pick to take the existence of somebody walking down the line it incredibly is an evil decision for which I need to be punished. How the guy dies makes each and every of the version. If somebody dies by possibility it fairly is termed an twist of fate because of the fact no person intentionally harmed yet another person. homicide, on the different hand, is an intentional act to harm somebody else. because of the fact of this each and every u . s . in the international has rules against homicide yet no longer rules against injuries except negligence replaced into in touch. on the different hand, even in spite of the undeniable fact that maximum miscarriages are unintended, if a girl had a miscarriage intentionally God would nonetheless see the evil in her heart, and he or she would be culpable for her movements.

Its not just conservatives, its all people who have good moral fiber, those who know that the murder of innocent unborn children is wrong. People who know that we should all take responsibility for our actions. Pro-choice, really means being for doing whatever you want and not having to take responsibility for it. If it is changed to rape victims only, there should be proof, like police reports or medical documents. I dont think it should be legal in any case, that baby is there for a reason. I'll tell you what else, if a woman is stupid enough to try to perform a coat hanger abortion, she deserves whatever happens to her, she knew the risks, and was stupid enough to do it anyway.

One of the concurring statements about Roe v. Wade is that "Abortion should be safe, legal, and rare."
Key word is rare, and we as a nation have strayed far from that judgment.
It was never meant to be an easy out of pregnancy, perhaps we can focus on education and prevention so a woman does not feel she has to choose an abortion.

Making it illegal wont even make it illegal. Indian tribes have stepped up and said if abortion is banned, they will build Planned Parenthoo clinics.

Fort the ignorant; Indian reservations are sovereign nations with their own govts.

Conservatives are aligning themselves with the religious right is the short answer. But I believe it is mostly political.
