You should have made sure he had a licence, but hindsight is a wonderful thing and doesn't help your situation, so let be positive about it. providing your car has not been involved in an accident and is not damaged in anyway there's no real harm done, OK it maybe your insurance could be void, but that's not the end of the world, you can always get another policy. As for the reporting it to the police, if they have asked you to do a producer, you have no choice, but don't offer information unless they ask. You will soon know whether you have a problem or not.

Unfortunately ignorance of the law is no excuse. You cannot use this as a defence. It is up to you to check the persons credentials on your insurance. I think you will have to throw yourself at the mercy of the court and tell the truth. If the person was driving your car without your permission that may give you some exoneration. I really don't think you have any legal defence to prevent you from losing your licence. If the person that drove the car on your insurance did not have a licence to drive and they ran over someone and killed them you would also be held responsible for allowing them to use your car.

I can't understand why you would have been able to have him as a named driver without his having to produce his licence, you could argue that that was the insurance company's mistake. I doubt very much that you would lose your driving license over this, but there is a chance you could be fined, or refused insurance in future. Will he step up and say that he lied to you?

Hm, you're in a good spot, I used to stay in Cinco Ranch or perhaps as i did not have a motor vehicle even as i become in HS, my friends continually gave me a improve, and now that I stay in memorial, i'm extremely fortunate to have a bus quit 2 blocks from me. the merely scary area of that is crossing memorial dr it truly is loopy with site visitors each and each of the time and the automobiles force quick besides. I journey the metro everywhere to my pastime, to varsity, the mall, downtown, med center, you call it, and that i agree the generic public transportation in Houston is fantastically restricted to aspects on the fringe of downtown, I understand your frustration. the priority with Houston is that with all the money mendacity in oil agencies and automobiles, there is no way we will get a mild rail quite of an HOV lane. which will be so outstanding, i'm certain people would journey it, who needs to placed funds into gas&parking once you will pay a million.50 to journey downtown!? the fee will be balanced because we spend a lot funds taring down and rebuilding highways once lets merely get a convention outfitted on structures. as far as motorbike lanes we do opt for extra yet extremely i don't understand that people would make investments on it, you would might want to enhance the streets and such and meaning extra site visitors because of structure. i don't understand that progression motorbike lanes on highways is plausible or possibility-free, i'm conversing extra about interior of neighborhoods. i do not believe doing away with suburbs they're magnificent to stay in! Buses are magnificent relying on what routes you're taking, i do not realize the "no longer only for the undesirable" element, in a great number of cases their buses are crap compared to what the park&rides get. yet certain, they opt for progression.

Gotta go with Oxymoron on this one. I can't understand how your insurance company would have added him without him showing them a license and them verifying that it's valid. Something's missing from your question.

Your insurance should not be affected by this. Had he driven then he would have been liable as he had knowingly driven without insurance or a license. I would say that any police investigation would find you without perfectly innocent.

Good question. Talk to a solicitor. They used to do a "consultation" for something like £5 for half an hour. Shop around and see what happens.

If you report it then it may indicate to the police you are an innocent party if it comes up later than they are less likely to believe you.
