I have a Compaq Evo N800v laptop, It's quite old. The hinges on the lid have suddenly got a lot looser?

This causes the screen to fall right back when your using it. Can the hinges be tightened and how can this be done?

Tighten all visible screws, specially those near the hinges, but don't over tighten them.

If that doesn't work, it may be time to buy a new laptop.

In the interim, put something heavy behind the lid to hold it in place.

MAybe add a bit of superglue to the hinge and firm it up a bit?
