i recently had my wireless modem/router installed but i was told to leave it switched on. Is it ok to switch it off or will it damage it???

Mine have been running for years. But I have enabled all security features and nobody can get in, period.

If you change the router's password and enable WPA encryption for wireless you can safely leave it running. If not, turn it off when you turn off your PC. The router remembers all of it's settings.

Yes, you can turn it off if you want to. It will not damage it.

But, turning it off means that you'll have to turn it on and wait for it to establish the connection with the broadband modem (which is fairly quick) befor you can use the internet.

it wont hurt but youll have to wait 10 minutes to get on the net when you oot it up. Also youll need to network the computers every time if its off for an extened period.
