So I've known my roommate for a few years now. He's been my friend since high school. He's got a girlfriend that is 6,000 miles away (long story, but it works), and he's always fighting with her via phone/skype.

In my case, i'm gay. Last night, I finally got my room-mate out of the room, and took him out with a few friends of mine. We were drunk, and he started hitting on the guy that I like (and knows I do). He was dead serious about it, and told the kid that he was probably Bi.

Do I have the right to be mad. There have got to be 15,000 girls on this campus, and I only know 3 gay guys here. Do I have a right to tell my roommate to ***** off, and leave the gays to me? He's a lot cooler/sexier than me, and gave the kid I like a lap-dance... how the ***** do I compete with a straight guy??!!!!

Secondly, should I say something??

Of course you have the right to be mad! if any straight guy hits on a girl that his mate likes and who knows it the that guy would be mad! Just think it over, if he is bi, he might feel confused. So yeah, be mad, but don't do anything drastic over it.
P.S I was in a situation like this, and eventually the girl I liked found out that a) I liked her, and b) my mate already had a girlfriend, and happily we are now going out. Why don't you tell this guy how you feel?

I would have to say NO! He was drunk. Was he drunk enough to hit on a guy and not be aware of what he was doing? Only you and him know the answer. Talk to him about it if he was seriously drunk he probably doesn't know what he did so refresh his memory. Be NICE!!! And you should want to compete with him for the attention of the other guy. If the guy really likes you like you like him then all of his attention will be towards you not your probably Bi friend.

Well to be honest, why should YOU have the rights to all of the gay men there. He has every right to them, as much as you do.

That being said, friends don't go after people who they know are liked by their friends. That is an unwritten rule that usually is followed. I guess you have the right to be mad, and that is something you should be discussing with him to solve the problem.

Tell him that you are not happy about his behaviour and leave it at that. I don't think a huge feud over this would be worth it.

He was also drunk and while that is never a good excuse, it is a fact of life that most people behave like jerks when they are pissed to the gills.

Be mad at yourself for not having hooked the guy that you like before your roomy got there.

Laugh it off with him "BTW, WHAT were you like last night, lap dancing on my future bf! Never taking you out drinking again "
