"A Separate Peace" by John Knowles

EDIT:
For the Coming of Age elements, you might also look at "Cat's Eye" by Margaret Atwood (although it might be little older than Grade 10).

For the survial theme, I read "Robinson Caruso" by Daniel Dafoe in Grade Nine, but be forwarned the English is a little dated (it was written in 1719).

Also, "The Count of Monte Cristo" by Alexander Dumas might be just what you are looking, although it has an older protagonist than those in "Lord of the Flies" and it the theme of Good vs. Evil is reflected through the lens of Revenge vs. Forgiveness.

Finally, "The Outsiders" by S.E. Hinton is not on an island, but theme of survival and "tribal" politics is there. It might be a little under the Grade 10 level (I read it in Grade 8).

EDIT#2: A couple more suggestions:
"Alive: The Story of the Andes Surviors" by Piers Paul Read
"The Last of the Mohicans" by James Fenimore Cooper

EDIT#3:
The challenge is coming up with additional novels on a Grade 10 level. I got thinking that the set up of children being removed from WWII and the theme of Good vs. Evil is echoed in "The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe" (albeit in a highly allegorized fashion) by C.S. Lewis. However, I read LW&W in Grade Four (on my own - it was an option in my Grade Six unit on fantasy). Also, "Heart of Darkness" by Joseph Conrad might be an option, but again, it might be of an older grade level. I read it Grade 13 English (back when we still had Grade 13 in Ontario).

Although Grapes of Wrath does not follow the exact theme as Lord of the Flies, it does carry the theme of good vs. evil and survival. The family must fight back against the government from taking away their homes and travel through great hardship to reach California.

Does it have to be a novel? If you can use a short story, "Most Dangerous Game" makes for a very easy comparison.

If it has to be a novel, then I'd agree that "A Separate Peace" is the best choice as they both explore the ideas of relationships among adolescent males, the issues and emotions of war (both WWII), and the theme of "Coming of Age"
