jd spoonworthy defined it properly. enable me merely upload: How does evolution make different horns completely symmetrical? incredibly lots all animals you recognize are bilaterally symmetrical, the two facets of the physique look the comparable. A mutation that has effects on my thumb will in many circumstances impact the two my thumbs. A mutation that makes my ears bigger will in many circumstances make the two ears bigger. So maximum in all probability, the comparable gene is in charge for the two horns. How does evolution "recognize" what to do: You confuse this too lots with Lamarckian evolution. that's in comparison to evolution says: "whats up, a horn may be helpful" and then a horn grows. the recent helpful properties look with the help of twist of fate, by using mutation, and then finally end up to grant an benefit, so as that they are stored interior the species. merely like a ball would not "recognize" which course is down so it may fall that way. Now, of course a horn is slightly complicated, it would not merely look unexpectedly. It could desire to have started out off as a small replace, like perhaps a bump, which presented some benefit, and then that bump turning out to be bigger presented yet another benefit, etc. Now i do no longer recognize how the horn certainly developed, yet spoonworthy presented a superb rationalization. (properly I examine in Wikipedia that for the period of between the Rhino's ancestors, Menoceras, the adult males in basic terms had 2 horns factor with the help of factor on their nostril. in a protracted time, it style of feels, those horns ended up in the back of one yet another.)
