Jean Paul Marat was murdered by Charlotte Corday. Marat was a revolutionary who was partly responsible for the French "reign of terror" in which members of the nobility and anyone who didn't support the revolution were killed.
As a sidelight, David was the painter of the famous picture of Marat in the bathtub.

Jean Paul Marat.
Charlotte Corday killed him.
He was in a bath because he suffered from a skin disease.
For me the truely great aspect of this story is that Marat allowed anyone who wanted to debate revolutionary ideas come and chat with him when he was in this bath. I'd love to see Blair or Bush inviting strangers into their bathrooms to talk about current political issues.

Jean-Paul Marat ("Poor old Marat, So long Marat"...) is outlined in the Wikipedia entry: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jean-Paul_Marat
A very interesting person in the French Revolution, he - along with so many others - could have made a great difference in it's outcome but for the passion of the times.
An excellent (although slightly odd) stageplay of his death was made into a movie which is available occasionally at the more cerebral of video stores: http://imdb.com/title/tt0060668/ It is not for those with short attention spans.
Your further exploration of the man, his times and the politics of the age is encouraged.

I think you mean Jean Paul Marat.
He was murdered by Charlotte Corday who was a member of the Girondins.
His radical views inspired a lot of hatred and he was forced into hiding several times.
In 1792 he was elected to the Convention and with Robespierre and Danton he overthrew the Girondins.
Because of a skin disease he could only write in the bath and was assassinated they by Charlotte.

Why might you desire to take a seat down on your tub and tub him in his tub? positioned him interior the tub with you. That way he may well be very on the brink of you and its uncomplicated which you are able to hold him upright against you while you wash him. you are going to be able to as nicely positioned his internet interior the huge tub with you in case you conflict to hold him while you interior the tub with you. I washed my daughter in a infant tub for the 1st couple of months. Then i attempted bathing her with me in my tub. Its SOOO lots much less complicated and relaxing for the two. If I ever get blessed with yet another infant i does not even difficulty getting a infant tub. the subsequent one will tub with me from day one! in case you have any concerns appropriate to the temperature of the tub. in basic terms dip your elbow interior the water. If the temp feels high-quality on your elbow. The water temp would be high-quality for infant! Does he ever get water in his ears. He might have a tender ear an infection and the water makes it worse? good success. i wish you will have a smiling bathing infant quickly returned!

Jean-Paul Marat. He was born in Switzerland, worked as a doctor in London and then became, essentially, the most visible leader of 'les sans-culottes'.

Jan Paul-Marat - isn't it boring when Americans cannot even answer a French Revolution question, and take every opportunity to put the down the French to make themselves feel superior?
*3 thumbs down - whose ego did I bruise?*

I believe his name was David (da-veed) not (day-vid). He was an artist. The reason he was killed in a tub was due to his skin disease. He had horrible psoriasis covering his body & was known to take long soaks in his bath (he often drew in there too). I forget the reason for his demise.

I don't know who he was but he was probably killed because he was French. Probably didn't want to fight.
