It's weather VANE; and you need to do it with a compass if you want accuracy; but if you want to guess at it - the sun rises in the east and sets in the west. If you face the sun at noon, the north will be roughly on your right side and south on your left.

hi,
You can find north if you go out in the early evening and locate the North star. It is the brightest star in the universe. You can find north using the moss on trees, which always grows on the north side of the tree.
You can find north by locating your city or town on a local map, and directing the weather vane to a location north of you, a city or town. Good luck with this, they are very nice decorations. Thank you.

What abt the middle dude? besides the regulations may be diverse if there replace right into a hollow, even gravitational regulations as that's consistent with shell theorum and the hollow might desire the formation of a sparkling formulation or theorum for graviatation in the international, additionally the warmth on the centre would not exist (might it?) i do no longer recognize, if it would then we might die close to the middle with the aid of temp strengthen and likewise might there be any ecosystem there? i do no longer think of so cuz that would additionally replace lots situations in the international. and maximum heavily, if there have been holes in north and south pole, then the magnetic field which saves the earth from radiation from the sunlight would not be finished and as a effect we might give up to exist. so i do no longer recognize

Using a compass would be the best thing to do. It is a little magnet floating around, it will point to the earth's magnetic pole (i.e. the north). However it cannot be used near electrical equipment as this creates a small magnetic force which interferes with it.

You can also find clues in the trees. In the Northern hemisphere the moss that grows on trees always faces North because this is the coolest aspect, and vice versa in the Southern hemisphere.

Around 10am, look for the sun, face the sun, you are now facing east, do a 90 degree turn to the left, you are now facing north. Problem solved.

alternatively stand in garden at noon, north is the direction you face when the sun is directly behind you (sun is south at mid day)
