Where can I find out about book sales figures - especially in the UK and especially non-fiction books?

You can find them out from The Bookseller (periodical) which they may have in your local library or you can subscribe online

The Sunday papers (broadsheets) usually have the top 10 fiction & non-fiction with sales figures.
