My wife and I are both disabled and live with chronic pain 24/7. It is very hard to get through some days but I know that life is worth living. No matter what is wrong with you, don't give up on life. I understand the feeling of wanting to give up somedays, but then I think about my family and the fact that life is always changing and the medical field is making huge strides. I believe that one day, someone will be able to help us. Have faith. You never know what tomorrow may bring.

I don't know if you mean borderline personality disorder or bipolar disorder.

You may be eligible for social services from your county for either diagnosis. They will help you get the meds/doctor's support and counseling depending on where you live (some states support mental health better than others).

You can ask for samples from your doc. You can try generics. Lithium and prozac are common bipolar meds that are generics. Get a higher dose prescription and cut your pills in half. If they are capsules, see if you can dissolve them in water or orange juice and drink 1/2 one day and 1/2 the next. The meds can't help if you are not taking them every day, only missing once a week or less. Also, if you are low income, you can get your pills for free from a pharmeceutical company. This info is available online.

If you can't do these things, print out the yahoo answers you got and call a friend/family member and tell them how bad it is, that you want to commit suicide, and ask for their help. If you have no one to call , call a crisis line (in the phone book) and ask for help. Tell them you are unable to follow up on anything if indeed you are that depressed. Long term, if you are borderline, DBT or dialectical behavior therapy, is the way to go.

Good luck!! I'm bipolar, very severely so, and there is help available, you just need to ask for it.

For a person with BPD, you have achieved a tremendous victory over Denial, which victory is necessary to get you on the road to increasing your psychological goals of walking from the cell of BPD. The acceptance gives you the key to the celldoor. That probably equals a good year of therapy, and now you will be able to focus better with the mental health provider that you choose. You will, of course, need that professional guide to walk with you through the lessening of the effect and the acquiring of more keys to unlock more doors. You have many sympathetic friends awaiting you on the BorderlinePersonalityDisorder website with whom you can communicate hourly and daily on your road to recovery. Keep the courage that you have and it will grow. Congratulations of your taking ownership of the condition and the willingness to pick the right doors of recovery.

You need to find a rehab program near you. They should have an office nearby. If you can't find one find a mental health office and go talk to them they can direct you into the right direction. Go tell rehab what you have been experiencing and they can help you get back on track with your meds and they can also help you get them as to where you say you can't afford them. But please committing suicide isn't the answer. Think of your family and friends that it will affect. Life is far too precious and short to end it at your own hands. Please get help because you can live a normal life. Good Luck and my prayers are with you.

i can really emphasize w/ you... i have clinical depression, and i also cannot afford meds. i've attempted suicide twice, and i'm now glad i didn't succeed. at the time i truly wanted to die, but when the doctor told me i had 2 weeks to live unless i got a liver transplant, i had a change of heart. i wanted to live and be with my family, and watch my son grow up. i was filled with so much regret after poisoning myself with pills, not to mention i felt like crap.

please do not kill yourself. i know you're hurting and overwhelmed right now, and you feel like ending it all is the only answer. but it's not. call somebody, a suicide hotline, family member, friend, or neighbor. you're not alone in your pain, even though i know it feels that way. also, there are some good doctors who will give you your meds as samples, so they are free. take care of yourself. and remember, when you hit rock bottom, things can only get better.
