You need to get the address for a publishing company and send a draft of the book to them. Send it to a couple publishing companies in case a couple turn it down.

If you send a sample of your work to agents, many will not even look twice at it. You'd better have something special and be prepared to practically rewrite it!

With the sample of your novel, you should put in a covering letter giving a brief synopsis, a very brief biography of yourself and you should focus carefully of what you think your target audience will be. Agents, as publishers, run businesses, and they want to know why people will buy your book.

Pick an agency who work with people who write in a similar genre to you as well.

The Artists and Writers Yearbook 2007 is the best for finding agents telephone numbers and addresses in the UK.

Start with reading a current edition of Writer's Market. Using that book as a tool, you can find the agents and/or publishers who might be interested in your story.

I went to my local book store, and they gave me the details of a local publisher that had some books in their shop. That is how I got hold of my publisher, and even the library took my book on as well as my local book store. So don't give up hope.Good luck.

You can go the agent way, or you can get it published yourself.

You'll definitely want to make a stop here: www.lulu.com

Good luck!
