I have accepted a new position yesterday but hate the job I'm currently at. My question is out of curiousity.

I would say it depends on how much time you've spent at that job. I agree about not burning bridges... but .. sometimes ... it just feels SO good to turn the tables on employers who have mistreated you.

If you've not been at the job long and can cover the time gap in your work history (say, if you were also going to school so don't have to mention you were working), then I say DO IT!

Well it all depends.. I mean you should give notice that is the best thing to do.. and your other job will also appreciate it if you do give notice.. people look at that.. so I think you should give notice even though you hate your job.. u never know they just might say well go now.. I have had that happen.. Good luck with your new job!!

Try to give notice, burning the bridge feels great but could haunt you down the road. Imagine if you were out to lunch with your new employer and you ran into your angry old boss.

sometimes it just turns out that way, I hated a job (the people there were downright abusive!), put the id in the drawer, left one night and emailed that I wouldn't be back.

Don't burn your bridges. The world gets smaller everyday.
