The hit occured so late that the puck was already across the blueline and no one was paying attention to kaberle after he passed it. The refs were looking at the puck.

This is turning into a big problem. I'm from Buffalo and had no real problem with the Neil on Drury hit, other than his back was turned and it was late. That blindside hit on Kaberle was the sickest thing that I ever saw. He not only got an elbow up, but Kaberle hit his head on the endboards. He could have easily finished this guy off on the open ice with a clean hit, but that punk went out of his way to injure him. after the NHL let Neil off with not so much as a slap on the wrist, you knew this would happen again, and soon. Now I hear that they are giving the guy who hit him 3 games? What the hell is that. They have to at least give him as many games as it takes for the injured player to return. The NHL should issue open-ended suspensions in cases like this. What happens when one of their "golden boys" like Sid Croby gets whacked by some goon with 10 games left in the season? What happens when the face of the "New NHL" gets busted up by some asshole who is trying to make a name for himself, and is out for the playoffs. You watch....then when it appears the NHL will take a hit in their pocketbook, then they will punish someone. Until then you can expect more cheapshots, and much more ugliness.

Yes, I do believe that the refs this year more than ever need seeing eye dogs. They deffinetly need to get their eyes examined. They seem to miss the most obvious but then call the questionable ticky-tack penalties. Last night, St. Louis(Tampa Bay) was being held at the blue line by a Florida player a few times trying to skate in, he didn't have the puck, wasn't around the puck, hadn't even touched the puck. Penalty? Nope! The refs are blind!!!

Embarrassing missed call on the T. Kaberle hit. The guy could've broken his neck and the Devils announcers attempts at dismissive rationalization was a farce in itself.

Janssen didn't get the gate, but he will get the press box for the hit. With all the talk of elbows and shoulders to the head, Campbell and the NHL will have to make an example of him.

If the refs think that WASN"T a late hit, how come they thought the Neil hit was late. If you look on the replay of the Kaberle hit, he passed the puck 2 seconds earlier than the hit (I used the "Mississippi" method). Now for the Neil hit (which the refs called an interference) I couldn't even get to one yet they THOUGHT it was late. I'm just trying to prove that the Neil hit WASN'T dirty, cheap or late.

The NHL is turning into Nascar, they interpret the rules anyway they see fit for the team/player/coach/GM. A week or two ago Drury gets a late(albeit barely)hit,20 stitches and a concussion. No penalty,no suspension to any players,BUT the nhl fines the buffalo coach $10,000 for sending guys to fight.
Now last nite a player gets the same hit(albeit a little later) and w/in hours he gets a 3 game suspension with NO EXPLANATION from the nhl( I couldn't find one). Amazing. And the nhl can't figure out why the US tv audience won't watch, they are so inconsistent in being inconsistent they are consistent !
Anyway, there is a lot more wrong w/the nhl to post here. Good luck everyone.

Being a Sabres fan, there's not many things that we and Leaf fans agree with, but this is one of them. How could a ref not see that? And there was no penalty? It's absolutely ridiculous and someone needs to challenge the league with this crap. Players are getting hurt and the NHL needs to protect their players. If that was Sidney Crosby getting hit like that, the Devils player probably would have been thrown out of the game and suspended for a lot longer than three games. The players and coaches need to step up and show the league they're not going to take it(ofcourse that's what Buffalo did and they ended up getting fined $10,000)

between many different questionable issues in final evening's interest, sure, i did take place to be conscious the refs and their unfavorable officiating (if that's what you desire to call it). some human beings say the Giants in basic terms "misplaced momentum" previous due interior the 4th, yet i say they only laid down and died quietly. i'm going to provide u the reality that the Giants potential to push the ball down the sphere, get a speedy score, turn around and make a "3 and out" stop of the Pats' offense (or possibly even an on-component kick and need they get possession) to the two score for the win or tie and take it 2 over-time in 4 minutes and 36 seconds became fairly not likely. however the reality that they did not even try is what pisses me off. The Giants allowed useful time to tick away whilst they sluggishly made their thank you to the line of scrimmage and then gazed in the direction of the sidelines for the play to be called out to them by potential of the education team became....i won't be able to even think of of the main appropriate be conscious. the another play scuffles, the lack of ability of calls, all of it in basic terms looked so....atypical. is barely conicidence that the refs do their *schittiest* interest of officiating whilst the Patriots are in touch?...i think of not

Cam should have gotten a double minor. He didnt leave his feet and he didnt throw an elbow, Kaberle had his head down admiring his pass. It was a late hit but the Toronto announcers (TSN i think?) where counting the seconds while showing it in slow motion. It was only 2 seconds after he passed it.

They are so busy calling chicken sh it hooking that they refuse to call potentially deadly hits. im all for physical play. I have played for 18 years at many levels, and have been nailed. But, someone is going to die. These hits to the head have to go. In the old days you would get pummelled for that. not today. People headhunt without fear.

In the chicago/wings game the other night Keith hit Calder from behind. he did not have the puck, Keith left his feet and hit him from behind, almost breaking his neck. No reaction from anyone. 2 minute penalty for a 5 minute major and suspension.
And they wonder why noone watches anymore.

What is up with the NHL? Wake up
