Sometime early on, the Spice Girls went in Spain and got booed at. Why did the Spanish do that?

Before the award show in spain the spice girls tried to get the photographers to sign an impromptu contract stating that they were not allowed to sell the photographs of the show. some of the photographers agreed to this contract and the rest were forced to either leave the venue or put thier cameras down. in response, the audience booed when the girls went up to recieve a reward.
