Unfortunately it is NOT okay to shoot any person if they are just trespassing. You have to have a good reason, such as self defense. Your 'job' as they say, is to call the police and let them take care of the situation. You tell the dispatcher that you are armed and let her if the trespasser continues to trespass after you have REPEATEDLY asked the trespasser to leave the premises you just may have to shoot him in fear of your life. But sorry, if the shooting is not justified and proven as such you yourself might find yourself on the criminal end of things.

Just trespassing I don't know.
In Texas ranchers often shoot at trespassers - usually over the trespassers heads as a warning.

A proposed law in Texas does give a property owner, renter or business owner the right to use deadly force against an intruder. No more lawsuits from whiny *** breaking & entry felons for being shot.

No. You can only legally shoot someone in self defense. Unlike most states, in Florida if someone breaks into your home it is presumed that you are threatened with immenent bodily harm and you dont have a duty to retreat so you can shoot them if you feel at all threatened. But, this is only for your home. If someone is running through your yard you cant say you were threatened and shoot them.

No, only in Texas can you protect your property from being carted. Florida is one of those state where you must say: "I was in fear of my life. I assumed reasonable bodily harm would be done to my person without the use of deadly force."

Ability does't justify use. Trespassing is hardly a life threatening event. So expect a long criminal trial and then a wrongful death civil lawsuit.

I guess you can if you have a gun, but I wouldn't
recommend it, as you just might spend some of
your future time in a jailhouse.
