Also, I have tried to download the drivers from the website and they also cant detect the graphics card. However, the card appears in the Add hardware list so this implies that it is installed properly, it just can't be detected by the drivers. I'm going crazy, help!

No, the Add hardware list doesn't mean Windows sees your graphics card.

Try removing and reinstalling your graphics card, it sounds like it isn't seated properly.

Download the drivers from NVIDIA's site and try those. Forceware 90 or whatever they are on now.
