i had a miscarriage almost 2 weeks ago. my fiance and i want to have another child, but we are told to wait a while. last night we had unprotected sex , got carried away in the moment and since we both want a baby...well.....so i was wondering if i could really be fertile so soon? if so, has anyone ever conceived and carried to full term so soon after m/c? (please, no nasty answers)

doc gave me no reason for the m/c. it just stopped developing at 6 weeks and i passed it around 7 weeks, found out it was gone at 8. since we had not been trying to get pregnant that time, i think that the m/c was my fault cuz i had been taking diet pills the first couple weeks i didn't know i was pregnant, and smoking.....all of which i have quit.

People have full term pregnancies after mc's all the time. And yes, there is a chance of you getting pg now. Did the doc give you a reason for the mc? maybe they can monitor your hormone levels a bit more if you get pg again.

Yes, you can be fertile this soon!

My friend had a miscarriage and then got pregnant almost immediately afterwards, I had a miscarriage and it took me a lot longer, but not for lack of trying!

The doctor has probably told you to wait due to the emotional stress you have been through, but if you feel ready to try again - go ahead!

Depending on the reason for your previous miscarriage, most of the time the risk factor is no higher after miscarrying than it is with any other pregnancy. Keep positive!

Good luck!!

I want to say sorry for your lost! I am going through the same thing. I just had a miscarriage last week. But I didn't bleed or anything. My doctor did a D&C. He told me to wait until next week when we go for our follow-up. If he gives me the OK, then we are going to take it one day at a time. And try to have another baby. SO yes you could be pregnant. I wish you the best of luck. And always remember to keep God apart of your pregnancy.

If your body hasn't gone through a cycle yet, I don't think you would be ovulating , which you need to do in order to even get pregnant. So I'm thinking the chances are slim it happened last night.

A friend of mine had a miscarriage and within 2 months she was pregnant again, carried to term and now has a beautiful little boy and another baby on the way. So you should be fine.

Sorry to hear of your loss, and best of luck at conceiving again!!

Two wks is so soon after a miscarriage to have unprotected sex! Allow yourself and your body to heal, it's for the best. Yes, people to have successful pregnancies after a miscarriage, but often Drs want them to take things easy. Which is also why you should be physically and mentally ready/fit.

Yes. You can get pregnant and carry to term. According to the doctors, It's best to wait for one "normal" period to come and go before trying again. You may or may not have ovulated this time around. Good luck to you!
