Okay, so I'm 13, and my birthday is in the end of september. The only reason I'm thinking of this now is because I spet waaaay too much money at A&F, so my mom is totally freaked, and I can't go shopping until my birthday.

I really want a play station because they have really cool guitar games on it, and singing games. So, If I want games like, Guitar Hero, Dance Dance Revolution, and this one singing contest game, should I get a PS3 or PS2?

The PS3 has only been out for a short time, so there isn't a wide range of dancing/music games available. The PS2 however has a wide range of these games so would be ideal for you. These PS2 games should also work on a PS3 but the PS3 is very expensive, and I think you need a HDTV to play it on. PS2s are really cheap now, I saw one the other day for £50 (just less than $100), so for budget reasons, game ranges and TV compatibility I'd suggest a PS2, pal. I've had mine for 4 years now - it's still my best friend in the world!...next to my PSP and Nintendo DS :)

I would definitely go with the PS2. Most people want the PS3 because its a new console obviously, but like every new thing it has glitches, and the expense of it is just ridiculous (you'd be better off buying a computer). If you got the PS3 most of the games you would be getting would probably be for PS2 anyway, so the latter would be the best choice ^_~.

ok here's the thing, the PS3 seems to be the hot new thing on the market, but what people don't know is that there have been many glitches going on with the PS3. It's not like every PS3 has a glitch it's a few, but the number of glitches is above average. I would reccomend the PS3 anyway because of the good graphics, but the PS2 is still pretty good too.

once you've the 60gb or 80 gb, then yea the ps2 video games in a great number of cases artwork on it. I easily have a ddr (dance dance revolution) sport for ps2, tho and it doesnt artwork on my ps3 because the mat cant connect it. so that you cant play the dance video games yet except that, you may play any ps2 sport. you'd be intending to get a reminiscence card adapter tho so that you're able to have the reminiscence out of your ps2games onto your ps3.

ok well if u wany the coolest graphics and great games go with a ps3 if u can find one or reserve one. if u get a ps2 get giutar hero 1 and 2 okami god of war 1 possibly 2, bully GTA san andreas. but if u want like resistence fall of man get a ps3. if u really want a ps3 go save ur money but be ready to buy a lot of online compnents if ur one of those ppl who like to play online. but u'll end up getting a ps2 i know it cuz u probably won't see a ps3 untill next year.

I'd say go with the PS3 if you can find one but your birthday is pretty far away anyways, and you can play all the ps2 games on the new system.

uhh, what do you think. The PLAYSTATION 3 of course. don't buy the ps2 when you can buy the ps3 and play ps2 games, then you don't have to buy another console once your ps2 get old. you can play all the old and new games with the PS3
