I know that the last time i ran out of dishwasher stuff i squirted just a little drop of washing liquid in and we had bubbles for good time after so i don't know what it would do to your washing machine but i know it almost ruined the dish washer.

we have washing powder and washing liquid for our clothes for a reason other wise it would say on the washup liquid bottle how much to use. Now come on stop being daft and use the correct things or better still you recon you wanna be eco friendly? take your washing down the stream and scrub it there

Yes it will cause too many bubbles for your washer and won't rinse the clothes properly. Try buying som eco friendly washing powder for your machine this may be a hassle now but will save on a bigger hassle later.

Hi Starlite,
I wouldn't think that simple washing up liquid would do any harm to your washing machine. I wouldn't choose it as it just wouldn't get my two year-old son's clothes clean but if it works for you I don't see why you shouldn't carry on using it!

I don't know if it will ruin your washing machine but I personally wouldn't risk it. Ecover make a range of environmentally friendly household products, why not try one of those.

If ur washing machine is automatic it can foam up a lot and its hell to rinse off, but I ndont think it will cause any damage.as u can use liquid soap specially made for automatics that have low foam build up.
