Depends on what it is running. It isn't technically a worm or anything else, what it is however is something necessary to run Windows dll files and any other programs dll files.

No it is not, it is a program the Windows runs to keep track of all the proccesses and DLL's (system files) running on your computer at boot.

No, it is a part of your operating system. Go to processlibrary.com and down load the free application, and get to know what is and isn't part of your system. It's a handy tool to have,also SpyBot search and destroy is another good tool for this type of thing. Note: to use processlibrary's app you must be connected to the internet to access their data base.
