He was actually pretty old for that time. Average life expectancy during his life time was between 45-50. Why? Life back then wasn't as easy as it is today, nor did they have the medical knowledge of today.
Encyclopedias say he died after complaining of a stomach illness.

62 was actually old for that time. The average lifespan was around 50 years. I can't find any information on what actually killed him. All the websites just say he died. Perhaps it was natural causes that they did not have the ability to diagnose at the time (just a guess based on what I've read about Aristotle).

At 62, Aristotle was considered a very old man in his day. Life expectancy was nowhere near what it is today, closer to 40 than 76. He died of natural causes. remember, they did not have the medical knowledge nor the life-saving drugs then as we have now.

Early? most people died in their 30s .. there was tons of disease, no way of preventing it. He was technically an old man who died of natural causes.
