500 songs roughly. of course there are many factors that come into play. The quality of song you put on it(higher quality = larger file so then less room for songs) Also Album art work and what not.also the length of song comes into play..i have a 2gb nano and it said i am suppose to get 500 songs but i only can get around 435 songs on it.

Ok. most likely, your ipod will not hold exactly the 500 songs a 2 GB said it can. It really depends on the size of the music files you have on your ipod.
