People don't like them because the way they became one of the elite teams in the NFL.

In the 2000-2001 season they went 5-11. They started 0-2 in the following season, then 9-11 happened. All of a sudden they bring in a sophomore QB with no NFL experience and they go 11-5 and make the playoffs. Then they get to the AFC Championship game. They play Oakland tight, although they had the home field advantage and it was snowing, until the famous "tuck rule." Any non-Patriot fan could see that the ball was fumbled, but because they were the Patriots and it was right after 9-11, they got the call. Then they went on to win the Super Bowl two weeks later. The whole thing stunk of conspiracy by the league because they were "The Patriots" and they were from the northeast and it was right after 9-11. To make things worse, they went 9-7 the following season and missed the playoffs completely. Also, since they have gone back to the playoffs and won two more Super Bowls, they carry a "hollier than thou" attitude about them that resonates from their head coach and their hypocritical QB. (I wonder what the Republicans were thinking when he admitted he watches porn and is going to have a child without being married.)

I like my champions to be made from hard work. Like when it took Green Bay 4 years to finally put the pieces together and win a title. Or this past Super Bowl when the Colts won after trying so hard for the past 5-6 years.

well I think people did like the patriots to an extent, but considering this season events; everybody wanted to see San Diego or Indianapolis in the super bowl (both played the Patriots) which made them less supportive for the patriots. plus people know the patriots won the super bowl three times already.

This is because their Super Bowl stories and such were not the feel-good like stories of some Super Bowl champions. What I'm talking about is they got to the Super Bowl quickly and won it. It was as if they won it by luck or got a good break whenever they needed it especially those 'tuck-rule' incident in 2001 and a horrible kick-off by John Kasay in 2003 that allowed them good field position.
Worse is they beat teams that were supposed to have "feel-good" stories like the Panthers in 03 (because of the complete turn around of a team that went 1-15 two years earlier) and the Eagles because heroic performances of Owens in 04. What's worst though is that the beat everybody's team favorite at that time - Indy Colts in '03 and '04.
And whatever everybody say, they don't have that charisma and ardor like other teams do because they don't have a stand-out player who does stand-out performances and statistics. I like that they work as a group but this is also the reason they work like a robot. Add to that that they won important games by luck, beat 'feel-good' teams, and Indy Colts of '03 and '04 makes people not like them.

I am a die hard Pats fan. The reason people dont like the Patriots is one, they have the BEST QB in Tom Brady. They have beaten many teams to kick them out of the playoffs and AFC Championships(colts!!), and because we have won 3 SBs in 4 years. But let me tell all you out there who are Patriots' haters, we just signed Adalius Thomas and Kyle Brady, and we are not done yet. We are looking into Randy Moss, Donte Stallworth, and Joey Porter. So you better watch out for the Pats next year.............!!

What are you talking about? I freaking love the Patriots. Everything in my room is Patriots, my wallpaper, my bedsheets, the rug, and posters. I love the Patriots to death and will NEVER stop loving them, even if they go downhill. Now that is something no fron-runner can do. I will always be there for Corey Dillon, Tom Brady, Tedy Bruschi, Laurence Maroney, and the rest of the clan. The New England Patriots ARE the dynasty of the 21st century and will always be remembered forever as one of the greatest NFL dynasties in NFL history. You cannot deny that, Patriot haters, don't deny that.

cause its human nature to build things up and then want to knock them down. The patriots with all their winning are have been built up enough and people know want to knock then down. Basically when something has a lot of success people get tired of other success and they become haters. Its the same thing with celebrities.

Over time as a team wins so often more people will start to go against them because they want to see someone else win not the same old same old team.
