There is only one "Speaker" connection on a standard 3 port sound card. You can only connect your speakers OR your headset to it one at a time.
The Source/Radio Shack used to sell an audio switcher for less than $20 that allows you to change from one to the other at the push of a button.

I dont understand , yet i understand that once I had a dell i had a difficulty with the audio gadget that got here with it too . The transformer cable may be slightly flaky the place the lead gets bent real on the backside the place it comes from the transformer. try playing some track and bending the cable around at this component .

Click on start,control panel,sounds and audio devices.There check your setting's and besure you have the microphone your useing in the mic block.Ckeck all your setting's on all the tab's.And check speaker setting on task bar next to clock.
