I am researching a family tree and this occupation has come up. I can't seem to find out what it is though. Any idea's ?

A tambourer is a person who sews embroidery for a living. A tambour is the name of the frame used to keep the material taut during sewing.

tambourer is an embroiderer using hoops to hold the cloth.it is an old occupation of scotland
