I watched it and I still don't understand it. Do you need to be stoned in order to get it?

You need to be old enough to remember what the late seventies were really like. The movie is pretty true to form.

Some movies aren't liked by everyone. Dazed and Confused was a great movie because of the soundtrack, the characters & actors and the dialogue not to mention the situations they get into.
No big deal if you don't like it, it's just not your taste!

It seems like every generation has a movie that defines their time and if you went to high school l in the late 70s early 80s this is it.

I think one of the great things about the movie is that it has Matthew McConaughey and Ben Affleck in early roles playing way against type. They're both almost unrecognizable.

i dont know how old you are...but im almost 36...this movie brought back a lot of good memories...depends on your era...ive seen it quite a few times and not once stoned...so no u can be sober to get it...lmao

You don't need to be stoned, you need to be in your 30s or 40s to get it, I think... Wistful memories....
