It only stops playing for about a second and then continues from where it stopped. It can happen on any disc and a different place everytime. Happens several times on each CD. Completely random places. My CDs are all clean and unscratched so that's not the problem. I have cleaned the lens using a disc cleaning disc. That made no difference. Also when I forward the CD to the next track sometimes it can't seem to find the space between the tracks, or takes a very long time to do it. It's under guarantee but I don't have box anymore and the shop is miles away where I bought it, so it's inconvenient to take it back.

Is this something that if I took it to a local eletrical repair shop they might be able to fix? Or even better, is it something I might be able to fix? (I'm not technical though). It's really irritating and spoils my enjoyment of listening to my CDs. Thanks for any help out there.

Are you playing the CD player on a hard floor where there is vibration. I notice that if I sit my CD player on the hardwood floor or tile or if I sit it in a place where there is vibration, it causes my CD player to freeze or skip a little.
