I am writing a research paper for college concerning the effects of a national smoking ban. I would love feedback from you all on these following questions. Thank You so much!
1. How much do you smoke per day?
2. How much do you spend per day/week?
3. If you live in a state that imposes the Clean Indoor Air Act, did this deter you from smoking? (Did you cut down or quit?)
4. With each rise in cigarette excise tax, does this increase deter you from smoking? (Did you cut down, or quit?)
5. Do you want to quit? If so...
6. What methods have you used to help you quit, and were they effective?
(I may be posting this question several times to get a good number of participants. Please post only once. Again, Thank You!)

1. it varies, mostly based on if i'm watching tv with my neighbor or not. i smoke a lot more when i'm with her. no more than 1/2 pack a day.
2. well, i buy a carton at a time and i honestly am not sure how much it is. i think about $30. a carton generally lasts 2-3 weeks.
3. i'm currently stationed in germany, but i lived in california when they imposed that, and no, it didn't make me smoke less.
4. no, i'm working my way back down, but it has nothing to do with cost.
5. yes, i unfortunately started up again a few months ago and am working my way back down to nothing again. it's a quick, easy, stress reliever.
6. well, the first time i quit was because i was pregnant and i had stopped smoking for almost 2 years. my plan is to limit my smoking more and more until i'm not smoking anymore. cold turkey just doesn't work for me.

1. How much do you smoke per day?
About 4 cigs a day - when I smoke.
2. How much do you spend per day/week? .
On the average - I only get one pack a week - some weeks none.
3. If you live in a state that imposes the Clean Indoor Air Act, did this deter you from smoking? (Did you cut down or quit?)
No
4. With each rise in cigarette excise tax, does this increase deter you from smoking? (Did you cut down, or quit?)
Doesn't matter to me.
5. Do you want to quit? If so...
No, at this time I don't have a compelling urge to quit.
6. What methods have you used to help you quit, and were they effective?
There have been times when I just don't smoke - for weeks.
