Most modern Dell Laptops simply allow you to "push" the button in. With the laptop turned off apply light pressure and try to get the key to "click" back in.
Do not force it though or you may do more damage. If this does not seem to be the case and the key will still not go in then for a couple of dollars or pounds you can get it replaced.
There should be no need to consider having the whole keyboard replaced.

If it is a loaner computer let Rehab Services fix it. Unless you know how to remove the keys, it is not an easy fix. If you have to have it fixed take it to a tech and have them do it and just eat the cost.

Plug on an external keyboard, not expensive. Also check for a replacement keyboard on ebay, some are down under 20 pounds now. May also be possible to pull up an onscreen keyboard and click the enter key on that with your mousepad - depends on the OS you are using. For XP - all programs, accesories, accesibilty, onscreen keyboard

it took me forever to do this. its almost impossible without pulling it apart. good luck, or find a neighbor who has done it before. usually keyboards arent that complicated. just dont change the order of the plastic films. make sure they are taped first. then you can get at the key from the underside. it isnt hard, but it aint as easy as throwing it against the wall. i found it faster to split the case. be warned, they usually have plastic "hold em" clips as well as screws. youll have to be careful not to break the case.

To fix it may be easy ... to fix problems you cause when trying to fix it is very expensive. Take it back
MEANWHILE, TO USE IT ...
Use the on boards mouse to highlight and tap left button ...
If that has problems, just tap the pad and taht is the same as a left mouse button tap
