well I have never been pregnant before, but I would be so grateful if you could give me some insight. I have a short cycle, and from doing research, I have found out that I could ovulate during AF, well last AF was 2/12/07, and I would have ovulated on 2/15/07 on the 4th day of AF, me and my hubby BD on 2/11/07. Ok now here is where I need your opinions: next AF is due 2day, but yesterday afternoon, I went to the bathroom, and wiped it was light pink, early This morning it was light pink, when I got to work this morning the panty liner had a streak of dark red-brown, when I wiped it was faint pink/ discharge, even lighter than yesterday. I do not want to get excited because I am tired of disappointment. The mind twister is I have not had any symptoms what so ever, except the fact that the past week and a half I had mild cramping off and on, almost unfelt, and the past 3 weeks I have been so so tired. which usually only happens a couple of days before AF. Any no symptom pregnancies

It could be implantation bleeding and some women also bleed around their expected period time when they are pregnant.

It could also be ovulatory bleeding or bleeding before a normal period. It could also be anovulatory bleeding.

If you have short cycles, you could definitely be ovulating earlier in your cycle. However, it's MORE likely that you either did not ovulate and often do not ovulate or you have a short luteal phase (time between ovulation and the next period). If you have a normal luteal phase, it takes some time during the next cycle to build up the hormones to ovulate again...therefore it's pretty rare to ovulate during the period (though you can start to have fertile cervical fluid during or at the end of your period). If you are not ovulating, you can STILL have what APPEARS to be regular periods but which are actually anovulatory bleeding.

By the way, sperm can live up to 5 DAYS in fertile cervical fluid!

Charting your fertility signs (such as cervical fluid and basal body temperature) can tell you a great deal about your cycle, not just when you might be ovulating. It can tell you when you are fertile (women are usually fertile for a few days before ovulation as well as the day of ovulation and the day after), when you are not, when you are ovulating, when to expect your next period, and when to suspect pregancy. Your charts can also tell you if there is an impediment to conception or carrying a pregnancy or if there is a serious problem which needs a doc's attention. Many cycle problems can be solved at home though.

Some good sources: Fertilityfriend.com (free software as well as a pay-for version and on-line charting turorial); ovusoft.com (discussion boards for many fertility related issues, much info on fertility after the pill, and a very good software for purchase). The books Taking Charge of Your Fertility (associated w/ the the ovusoft website and software), The Art of Natural Family Planning, and Garden of Fertility

It "might" be implantation bleeding. It depends on how long your cycles are and how regular you are. If you did ovulate on 2/15 and had sex on 2/11 it's unlikely that you are pregnant, sperm only lives for about 48 hours. If you cycles aren't always the same though you may have ovulated on another day then you thought.
