as far as illnesses of the general body, i doubt he would be of much help, however illnesses of the mind are another matter. because of his ability to articulate how his brain functions, and the extroadinary abilities his brain posseses i do believe he could contribute greatly to that field.

I think Brain Man is excellent. I saw his documentary about a week ago, and I was immediately stunned at what he could do. As for curing illnesses, I think he has a pretty good chance at helping diseases and things because of his math abilties. What I really think he would help is teaching the world how to use other parts of our brains..He obviously uses more than the average person. If we could figure that out we could make clones, live longer, and who knows what else!

Thank you so much for the link! What an interesting and intriguing individual that gentleman is. And how fantastic that he has agreed to help with scientific research to see if he can aid in the advancement of modern medicine in any way. I wonder if he is the person in that rubik's cube commerical who gets all sides in uniform color without having to look. (I could only get 2 sides myself back when :)

A clarification .... he has arithmetical skills not mathematical skills, and that's not of much use. You can match those skills with the help of your calculator. You can match his memory skills with the aid of paper and pencil. Are you about to find cures for illnesses?

I saw that! It was fantastic! I think that if a particular medical problem was posed to him, he may be able to come up with at least an idea, since everything is based on math, anyway. It's a very interesting question.

Thanks for posting this! very interesting, I hadn't heard this report before....I think scientists will be able to learn much about his condition from study of him but I don't see where he could help find cures for illnesses.
