I'm not in your exact area of Michigan, but I've come up with three recommendations: the first two because I've heard good things about them and they seem to offer a solid program, and the third because the director is a member of the Cecchetti Council of America and I highly recommend the Cecchetti method of instruction for young children.

Eisenhower Dance Ensemble Center for Dance

The Eisenhower Dance Ensemble is one of Michigan's few resident professional dance companies, so it's always great to get trained at a school that is affiliated with a professional company.

Rochester School of Dance

This is a school that my daughter personally wished that we lived closer to, as they do an excellent job with preparing dancers towards a professional career. She's met several students from this school and can attest to their quality instruction.

Ann Parsley School of Dance

Like I said, a strong grounding in the Cecchetti Method, which is ideal for starting instruction. There is a link on this site to read a bit about Cecchetti, but it doesn't say enough about how the method is very focused on building strong foundations for movement at each level in order to avoid injuries. Their class offerings include lots of extras, which kids love.

My daughter is now nearing the end of her college dance program, having started when she was 3 1/2 years old. It's not like you already know whether your child will want to pursue dance seriously, but I'd like to urge you to avoid dance studios that focus on doing competitions. If your child begs to do something like that when s/he's 12 or 13, then fine. But practicing for competitions takes away from learning proper technique. They also cost a ton of extra money that doesn't net you any higher skill development. Save that money for summer instruction for the teen years.
