i don't want it to show up on my desktop,??

1. In Internet Explorer, click Internet Options on the Tools menu.
2. Click the Advanced tab.
3. Click to select the Show Internet Explorer on desktop check box.

for a registry tweak. BE CAREFUL IN THE REGISTRY!!! If you do something wrong you can mess up your computer.

Easy...

Under CONTROL PANEL, open the DISPLAY icon...
Now click the DESKTOP tab at the top, and then click the CUSTOMIZE DESKTOP button...
Finally, at the top, select the icons you want to appear on your desktop... Only check the ones you want/need!

Then click OK to save your settings and exit!

PS: You might want to check out the other customizations available here, and make it just like you want!

Just slide it to recycle bin.You can alway's get the shortcut back if you want it.It's alway's on hand.
