I have been recieving quite high speed internet, i installed a surge protector and the line now runs through that, the internet now goes slow on one computer but faster on the other., would this be becausee of the surge protector, or not.

Any solutions- comments- queries would be appreciated thanks.

I don't think that the surge protector would be running an application on the computer when it is turned on, I think that it only protects the power and the internet, and it is the internewt that is going slow on one computer through ethernet, it is going faster on the other computer through ethernet.

a surge protector should not slow down a computer, i would disconnect the surge protector and hook the PC up straight to the wall just to check though. I would also do a tune up on the PC make sure and defragment it ever so often and clean up junk files. Just give those things a try first.

Hi Jake,

your net speed is probably slow now cuz it has to go through the surge protector.

Just check how much memory/CPU is surge protector consuming from your task manager
