I have an MP3 file around 16 hours long and I need to edit it into about 2 to 3 hour segments. Is there any easy way of doing it without going out and buy some expensive program?
I have media player 10 on an XP platform.

I agree with "maryavatar". Use Audacity if you don't want to pay out, or its a one off situation. Its very simple to use and does a lot for the cash!.You will have to download and install the MP3 Codec yourself, as it doesn't have one as standard.
If you do have a little money and want more flexibility, then buy "MAGIX MP3 Maker" software. Its cheap and available on-line from PC World. Its £9.99 for the basic version or £29.99 for the Deluxe Version.

I use Audacity for making and editing podcasts. It's a nice neat piece of kit, and freeware too.

streamripper or MEDA Mp3 splitter. Both are shareware but ok for one off use!
