I have researched this fair tax thoroughly and have concluded that it is great! Research it yourself on google video or www.fairtax.org
This is the closest step toward universal health care, getting rid of the irs, and much more! watch aaron russo's move freedom to facism he talks about how the income tax, and the 16 amendment is illegal and unconstitutional. Any progressive either liberal, moderate, or conservative should not be partial to this. I was thinking about voting for barak obama but I would not vote for anyone who is for the income tax!

The fairtax get at all tax evaders, criminal etc.. about a trillion dollars in tax. Businesses won't have a tax burden allowing lower prices and more jobs. It will be collected by states as they do with state, and local sales tax. Then distributed to the treasury meaning the new tax organization won't be as near as complicated and personal as the irs.

I'm conservative and I agree the IRS amendment is unconstitutional. Is it the 16th I can't remember Anything that would force the IRS off the government pay roll is great in my book. You have to understand that Barack is not the moderate thinker the media is painting him to be. He is extremely liberal and extremely liberal doesn't reduce taxes.

There are a number of problems with the fair tax. First it requires an organization to distribute the checks and manage the business collecting tax.

That organization would be just as complex as the IRS as it now would have to collect information about each and every american that has be be kept up to date. The current IRS just collects information given to by businesses. The information businesses give tell them everything about income earning people. It doesn't actively seek individuals out like the fair tax controlling organization will have to.

Also the fair tax is a flatly adjusted tax. There is no flexibility for the government to help the country in times of recession. It is too rigid.

So the IRS or similar organization will continue to exist as always and the tax structure could turn out to hurt the nation if the speculation about the benefits of fair tax is wrong.

What are you conversing about? Obama has no longer presented any plan for well being care reform quite he has exceeded the priority to congress. that is real that the generic public selection is quite unpopular. Obama has shown he has no plan in this any better than he has a pragmatic plan for something else. i'm no longer too fearful and neither might want to you because even as 2010 receives right here we are able to work out skill shift decrease back to republicans a touch extra giving us extra stability. I predict dems will lose 2 governors, 2 senate seats and about 6 representatives.

The Tax is great if all you had to do was keep the American Public happy. But if individual businesses had to manage this themselves, their cost to do business would be through the roof and would become globally uncompetitive to offer you good and services. At that point, you would be happy to have a fair tax, but you wouldn't have a job as all of the jobs would be overseas.
