I lived in Malaysia for a long time and one of the best things I enjoy when I go back to visit is the food and the weather. Having said that it all depends on what you like. I think if you have an open mind and are willing to try EVRYTHING then there is absolutely plenty to chose from. It is a very safe country to travel to and most people understand English (even if they don't reply in English). Each state has its own history and culture. Penang and Langkawi in the north have some lovely beaches and resorts (although the beach 'culture' is slightly different). Kuala Lumpur is a great 24-city and is a mixture of a developing city built amongst an old mining town. Not forgetting the National Park running down the spine of the peninsula (real tropical jungle) and places to snorkel/scuba dive along the east coast and East Malaysia i.e Sabah and Sarawak. Enjoy!

Depends on what you're after. If you were to only go to Johor Bahru the answer would be "the first bus out... to Singapore" although there are some excellent seafood restaurants there.
KL has interesting museums, a beautiful railway station (better looking than the mosque next door, so I think the architects got mixed up) and some good restaurants. The main museum had a collection of shrunken heads when I was there - gruesome but fascinating.
Malacca is lovely, with lots of old colonial-era buildings from the Dutch and Portugese periods and again, some good museums plus some attractive churches and mosques.
Wandering around the tea plantations and forested areas of the Camercon Highlands should be on everybody's itinerary.
Penang & Georgetown are very colourful and well worth a visit for a few days.
If you want beaches - Langkawi is up-market and full of resort-type places; Tioman is lower key and excellent for those on a lower budget - good beaches, restaurants etc.

The food definitely is the main attraction for Malaysia and the main thing that attracts me.
second would be the wonderful sights! Love the hectic city of Kuala Lumpur. hazy but fantastic! there is just loads to do!!
The outskirts.. i definitely recomend the Islands to visit. Especially Tioman and Langkawi!! Tioman is clean n waters are clear. very romantic for two but Langkawi is great for the young~ cos booze is cheap and so are chocolates n perfumes!
the list goes on but if i keep typing n not get awarded best answer, i'd be disappointed.. so till the next time!!
visit malaysia 2007!!

The are alot of good things but i cant find the best.
1. the internet STREAMYX!!!
2. Rape culture
3. Mat rempit (means those ghost motorcycle riders)
4. Malaysians threats white people as GOD!! if u r a white n feeling bullied in ur country, come to malaysia n u will be GOD!!
5. The ice in ur drink can cause cancer.
6. Golf: You can meet a lot of rich Datuks, ministers and businessmen in the golf course. Don't waste time playing other type of sports especially football, sepaktakraw, swimming, etc. Datuks are fat, they only play golf. So if you don't play golf, sorry lah, you have no future.

i'm not a malaysian but i simply love malaysia.. my maternal family stays there so i only get to visit malaysia a few times per year..
what's good? there's alot.
the people, very friendly (except for the small portion who's comitting those crimes)
the food, very nice, u get the best satay, otah, roti prata etc
the scenery, be it kampong, or some rural villages, it's all abt nature where u can relax.. the beaches along the south china sea or indian ocean.. the nightlights of kuala lumpur.. the cool weather at genting highlands..
the pace of the country, slow but steady.. not as hectic as other countries..
hence malaysia would make a good place for me to stay.. =)

Malaysia.... friendly and nice people in the country a.k.a "kampung" (you'll know this if you're malaysian). Nice places for shopping sprees in big cities such as Kuala Lumpur,Johor and Penang. PLENTY of good food in Penang, KL and other parts of the country. Nature.... in Sarawak and Sabah. Beautiful beaches in Pulau Tioman, Pulau Redang, Pulau Pangkor and other beaches near Sabah. Beautiful wild life - the flora and fauna....
A variety of different cultures. Different races live harmoniously with one another!
