The State takes a moral position that sex should not be for sale. Just as human organs should not be for sale.

Health is not a legal reason, and morality and religion cannot be legislated. The laws against prostitution are based upon revenue (taxes), same as for drugs, since commerce is the only thing states can legally regulate.
Prostitutes are actually more careful about not catching/spreading diseases than people who have sex for free, because they depend upon being healthy to make a living. You're more likely to catch an STD from someone who isn't charging/paying.

Because its not just for the health of the two people involved, but for an unsuspecting spouses health too. Also prositution is not always a victimless crime. A lot of people who are prostitutes were kidnapped at a young age and forced into it. Others are drug addicts. Comeon...nobody WANTS to be a prosititue...thats crazy. Yes some may say they do but thats just MARKETING. Id guess less than .000001% of all prostitutes actucally want to be prostitutes.

The Government is missing out on a cut of the money, that's why it's "illegal". I think prostitution is a necessity for all those lonely men (and women).

It is illegal in all states except Nevada for reasons of morality.
Health reasons have often been sited in arguments to legalize prostitution. If legalized, prostitutes could be licensed and required to have frequent health screenings, thereby preventing the spreading of venereal diseases.

It's not illegal here, as long as it's in a registered brothel. I think the street corner kind of prostitution is illegal for safety reasons and because a lot of young girls would think it's easy money if there was no law against it. And people would take advantage of them.

I don't know what law it breaks. But it's probably illegal because it's not the right way to make money. Everyone makes money by working for it. Prostitutes have sex for it. So, it's not right.

The law it breaks is the law that says one cannot perform a sex act for money, unless employed in the filming of an X rated movie.

It's immoral and can be seen to be used to exploit the men/women working as prostitutes. It also falls foul of taxation laws if you do not declare your income, which obviously a lot of people don't.
