We've been swinging for several years now, and yes, we are very, very happy. In fact all our friends who don't know we are swingers say we are the happiest couple they know.
And we are the norm for swingers, not the exception. The reason we can swing successfully is because we are so happy together. He had a great marriage and great sex together before we started swinging, and it has gotten even better since.
Swinging is simply an extension of our great relationship. It's not a replacement for it like many non-swingers would like to believe. Of course, this is their opinion and not fact. Asking non-swingers about their ideas of swinging is like asking someone who is afraid of heights how they feel about sky diving. What do you think the answer is going to be?
Has it ended marriages? Probably, indirectly. These are the people that have used swinging to "fix" their failing relationship to begin with. They think it will "spice-up" their relationship and magically fix all the problems they have already. These are the ones that end-up divorced. But, even without swinging they would have gotten divorced anyway.
For good, accurate, and honest information about swingers and swinging, check-out The Swingers Board. It's a free discussion forum for swingers. You'll get the information straight from those that are thinking about it, are doing it, and have done it.

I have been familiar with swingers for about 25 years. I have known some swingers that have been in the lifestyle for 40 years or more. If you just want to scr*w around then you are just scr*wing around. But swinging is a lifestyle. It will destroy a weak marriage but make a strong marriage stronger. The people who are in the lifestyle, and not just scr*wing around, are very happy.

My wife and I used to be in that lifestyle, and that lifestyle is sick and wrong. I thought we had a strong marriage, and it almost destroyed our marriage. I don't buy what was said if you have a strong marriage it will make it stronger, because how does having sex with other people make your marriage stronger?? The swinging lifestyle puts more importance on sex, and not enough on the relationships.
I'm ashamed that I EVER got into that horrible lifestyle. It's wrong, because sex before or outside of marriage is wrong. Sex was created by God to be between a husband & wife in the bonds of marriage.
If I could I would go back and never get started in that crap.

Do not even think like that, talk, be open, find another way to excite each other. After a prolonged relationship it is only natural to have periods of boredom, but think of what you have not what others might give, that can not replace the love, pain, and all the other experiences that you have together. they are beyond replacement they make you what you have become, unless of course you do not like yourself.

I have never done it, but if you are interested in doing it and your partner is too, then go for it. Just remember to set standards.
