one time in the mall,I thought I saw one of my really good friends, looked identical from behind,so I went up to give her a jolt and omg,I grabbed her a** as a joke and this girl turned around real quick and gave me the dirtiest look, immediately I apologized and told her I thought she was someone else, and how sorry I was, lmao, thank God she was a nice girl and didn't turn around and pop me one, lol, talk about wanting to shrink and crawl away!

That happened to me just three days ago. I pulled into a park and saw a guy who I thought was a friend of mine. He was waiting for the traffic light to change. So I stopped as I was pulling in and said, "And what are you doing here?" He turned to face me and he was not the friend I knew. I started laughing and waving my hand and said in my loudest voice, "Oh, I'm sorry, I thought you were this guy I knew. Have a great day!" I immediately drove into the park. The man was nice about it, and drove off at the Green Light. I'm going to make sure before I speak next time.

I've almost done this on numerous occasions but never quite!
It has happened to me though - when I was about 14 (a very long time ago!) I was in our local library and a woman came up and said hallo to me and asked me how my sister was. I don't have a sister! I was very shy then and didn't have the foggiest idea how to handle it. I seem to remember I said something like, "Oh, she's very well, thank you, sorry - I must dash now" and left without having chosen a library book!

I apologize and explain that they look very much like an old friend,, what do you do when you're on the other side of that and someone you've never seen insist that they know you and won't take no for an answer,, that happened to me about a month ago.

Just say "Wow, I'm sorry. You look a lot like my friend Layla. I thought you were her. Have a great day!"

Say I'm so terribly sorry you look as beautiful as my friend Layla. It will help you save face and not be so embarassed and they will feel complimented.

LOL.. Ive done this loads of times because I'm long sighted, and if I don't have my glasses on I'm blind as a bat...
I just laugh, apologise and tell them the truth..they always see the funny side. Plus its a bonus story to tell your mates later.

It has more than likely happened to most of us. I just said that I was sorry and that she looked just like an old friend that I hadn't seen for awhile. She said it happens to her all the time.

Go red, sneak off looking at the ground and then write in to one of those magazines with embarassing moments and earn money =D
My friend told me she once jumped on this man's back thinking it was her dad...it was one of his workmates too...
