Different breeds of dogs have distinctly different personalities.
Violence, aggression, passivity, loyalty, stoicism, excitability, intelligence - all these things sharply varied in the many
breeds of dogs. For example, the Chihuahua is extremely excitable and hyperactive by nature, whereas the Saint Bernard is stable and stoic. Look at the natural violent aggression of the pit bull as compared to the naturally friendly disposition of the Golden Retriever. Many parents of small children often chose a Golden Retriever as their pet because the breed is exceptionally friendly and protective of children.
Not only do dogs have distinct personalities according to their breed, but that they are bred by man precisely for those personalities as well as for physical characteristics.
Are Homosapiens no different? Some races tend to be more violent, stupid and agressive like the pitbull while others tend to be friendly and smart like the golden retriever. Is equality an artificial invention?

Smartypants: Tell a breeder of dogs or race horses that and he will laugh at you. Do you honestly believe a domesticated Wolf and a chihuahua have the same temperments, intelligence, mannerisms, and agression because of how they were brought up? The difference between Golden retrivers and Pittbulls is 500 years of selective breeding. Another Egalitarian Marxist. Next.

In one of your additional details you answered your question yourself. The difference between dog breeds, and horse breeds as you mentioned, come from thousands, not just hundreds, of years of SELECTIVE breeding. Add to that the fact of fairly short generational periods ( a dog can healthily reproduce at age 2, it is about 15 for humans.) and you can get a lot of distinguishing characteristics. 2500 years is 1250 generations of dog, (Yes, people have been doing this for that long if not longer.) but only, at most, 200 generations of humans. We have not had the time to create those distinctions in humans, especially when you consider the differences in complexity of the animal.
Besides that, humans reproduce using NATURAL selection, not SELECTIVE breeding. The difference is that we, generally speaking, decide who our breeding partners are going to be. (I have heard that during periods in societies that slavery was accepted, a small amount of selective breeding was done with humans, but not nearly for the period of time that it has been, and continues to be, be for dogs.) Dogs, on the other hand, can be easily controlled as to who they breed with. It is in that manner that traits can be bred into or out of a line of dogs.
The differences in races in humans that you mentioned are largely (I will not say completely, because there is no real way to make this statement conclusive) due to societal and familial influences. Societies evolve, just like animals. And even though an asian family, for example, might move to a predominantly white area, they are going to bring at least part of their society with them. That in turn affects the society that they move into. And the society they move into will affect their behavior as well. But changes like this can take a generation or two to really be seen. But they do happen.
Smart people, like great athletes and criminals, come in all shapes, sizes, colors and sexes.

I see ignorance still runs strong in the world. That logic would not work because the simple fact that all animals work off of instinct alone. Humans have instinct but we can choose not to follow them. Asians are smart because their CULTURE finds educations as a serious necessity, not because there is a genetic smart gene in them. A lot of crimes among black people (since some of you don't even know the accurate term for them) happens because of how society is structured. No I'm not saying this is a set up, I've actually witness this. An ethnic school will have much less funding then one filled with white people less then 5 miles away. That inner city school will be using the same text book for 5 years while the other school gets new books every 2 years. Why, that is up to the government to answer. Yea there are ignorant black people, but there are also ignorant white, spanish, asian, and what ever else ethnicity out there. People need to stop comparing others by their skin tone. It is 2007 we need to move on.

By and large, different breeds of dog have different physical characteristics, and that's it. A dog's "personality" is largely shaped by it's environment... exactly like a human's.
People that choose to own Lap-dogs, tend to spoil them, and the dog's personality eventually reflects this.
People that choose a Retriever would raise that dog to be affectionate.
Unfortunately Pit-Bulls get a bad rap. A lot of them end up with owners that want them to be aggressive. I know a number of these dogs that have been raised in a loving and protective environment, and their personality reflects this.
By the way, did you know that Maltese Poodles bite more people (especially children) than any other dog?
Edit: I don't remember referring to any similarity between "domesticated" Wolves and Chihuahuas.
Read my answer again. I said a dog's personality is LARGELY shaped by it's environment, I did not say COMPLETELY. My father and I have owned St. Bernards, Retrievers, Rottweilers and Pit-bulls, so I have a little first-hand experience in this field. All of our dogs were treated and trained in a similar manner. The most aggressive and difficult to train were the St. Bernards, not the Pit-bulls or Rottweilers.
By the way, I know 3 people that breed Pit-bulls, and a friend of mine works for Mike de Kock, who is arguably the best race-horse trainer in South Africa. While I don't have anywhere near their level of expert knowledge, I am not completely ignorant.
How many experts did you interview before posting this question?
Considering that you refer to Pit-bulls as "violent, stupid and agressive (sic)", I would guess the answer is zero.
I am not disagreeing with you regarding issues of physical performance. As far as I know, no white man has ever broken the 10 second barrier for the 100 meter sprint. But, this has absolutely nothing to do with personalities.

ignorant, ignorant people. why cant you realize that people are different from dogs? Pit bulls are not a breed. the word pit bull is a word that describes any dog (any of 20 something) that looks like a american pit bull terrier. and stupidness in a pit bull is at the bottom of their characteristics list along with agression. They only reflect what their owners are like. Well, i would say for you, you would have a extremely ignorant dog. And it doesnt matter what race you are. I know several very intelligent black people, so waht? i know a couple 'dumb' asians and my white friend know how to hack things better than anybody. What is your point in all this anyways?

In brief, yes equality before the law is to an extent a philosophical invention put to a practical purpose-- making government work.
Hobbes, for example, pointed out that while individuals are not equal in fact, we are equal in that we are all mortal--all vulnerable to some downfall. However, collectively we are more resilient. Nominal equality casts a broader net to include individuals in a collective. This serves all by increasing the overall resilience of society.

Good Heavens! It seems the first thing a LOT of people do when they wake up in the morning is hate! Instead of obsessing on "race" differences, why don't you use your time more productively and start thinking like a member of the HUMAN race.
