i have a 1979 chevy c 10 pick up with a 75 250 straight six in it.
now my engine is getting pretty tired and i am thinking of replacing it with an eight cylinder engine. now my question is ....
i have a three speed on the column transmission. i don't know anymore about the tranny and i would like to know what if any eight cylinder engine will mount to this transmission? or do i need to replace it as well? the tranny has been recently rebuilt and i would hate to have to change it out if i really don't need to.

any small block Chevy should bolt right up but you may have a problem with the flywheel and try to use an engine built before 1986 or you will have trouble.

the Chev, any motor ,will fit, from a 283, 307,305,350,, but by having a 6, you may need Th Chane the motor mounts, but all bolt right up, now one thing i have ran in to is the motor may need to be push back,, so this mean anorther drive shaft,an a nother radiator,an hoses
