I'm from Florida and am going to Ireland in June. Someone suggested I get an International driving permit. How and where do I get one?

You don't need one for Ireland, or just about anywhere in Europe, really. The permit carries no authority; it's basically just a translation of your current DL into several different languages, so it becomes useful while travelling in countries where police might not understand English. This won't be a problem in Ireland. You still need to bring your regular DL with the int'l license wherever you drive.

I just returned from a week in N Ireland, with a rental car. Have you ever driven on the left, UK style? If not, go to a large empty parking lot (mall or similar) and practice driving on the left (wrong) side of the road, especially making turns properly, to get the feel of it.

AAA Auto has them. Car rentals will allow you a rental with such a license. Be aware you are responsible for the local laws. Most Americans are not ready for the EU road signs and photo radar. Parking will be your biggest challenge.

while you're making plans to stay for extra advantageous than 3 months, then it is going to likely be very efficient to get a Filipino utilising License. If no longer, your AAA worldwide utilising enable will valid - with each and all of the rights and privileges of a Filipino utilising License.
